Ethiopia is endowed with some of the most unique sites on the African continent. Today, Ethiopia boasts of more UNESCO world heritage Sites than any other country in Africa. Ethiopia conserves the past in the form of Exotic and beautiful monuments and ruin ones that are built centuries ago. Ethiopia’s magnificent landscape ranges from desert areas that is 117 meter below sea level (Danakil depression) one of the hottest places in the world; to the forested highlands of Siemen Mountain National park which has an elevation of 4,620 meter above sea level at the famous mountain summit, called Ras Dashen. Mount Ras Dashen is Ethiopia highest mountain peak and the fourth in Africa. Ethiopia is some times called The Roof of Africa, because there many Mountains that have an elevation above 4,000 meter above sea level. Most rivers; that are originated from Ethiopia flows down to other African countries and so that Ethiopia is named as the water tower of East Africa. Some of the river that flows out from the territory of Ethiopia is the gigantic Blue Nile, Tekeze and Wabe Shebele Rivers.

Day 1.

Arrive Addis Ababa and Our representative welcomes you on your arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport and transfer to hotel. After refreshment, depends on the time city tour of Addis Ababa. O/n Hotel

Day 2.

Early in the morning transfer to the airport and fly to Bahir Dar; after we drop our luggage’s take a chartered boat trip on Lake Tana to visit monasteries. You will visit Ura Kidane Mehret, and Azwa Maryam (in Zeghie Peninsula). After lunch drive to Blue Nile falls to visit the Blue Nile Falls, locally known as Tis Isat means in Amharic: ‘Smoke of Fire’. Trek around and see a Portuguese Bridge (17Century) and the beautiful country side. Over night Hotel.

Day 3.

Bahir – Gondar ; Drive to Gondar & Visit the Castle compound, Bath of King Fasilades, Debre Berhan Silassie church with its unique murals.. (Included in the World Heritage List.) Overnight. Hotel

Day 4.

Gondar – Sankaber  Drive to Debark town (100 Kms), where the head quarter of Semien Mountains National Park is found. Drive to Semien Mountains National Park (World Heritage Site by UNESCO ) to visit its exceptional natural beauty which includes superb scenery, endemic fauna and flora. Among other endemics it is here that the Gelada Baboon (bleeding heart Baboon) is found. Over night Camping at Sankaber. (3200 m)

Day 5.

Sankaber – Geech About 1 and half hours walk we see the Jinnbar River falls, after crossing the river, we ascend for about two hours to Geech, which is full of Giant Lobelias. The scenery is wonderful, and herd of the endemic Gelada Baboon can be seen on our way. O/n Camping at Geech Campsite (3600m).

Day 6.

Geech – Imet Gogo – Geech At a morning we walk to Imet Gogo, the view here enables one to look all directions, one of the best views in the national park. After a short stay here continue walk to Seha, the other super viewpoint in the National park. We will have our picnic lunch and we continue to the last viewpoint, Quedadit. After some stay we walk back to Geech camp site. It is the day that we will be walking in the best part of the national park. If we are lucky we might have the chance to see mammals like the Ethiopian wolf, Walia Ibex and Klipspringers. Over night Camping at Geech Campsite – (3600m).

Day 7.

Cheneck:  We trek to Chenek, we will be walking through the Giant lobelia trees and under these trees African field Rats are common. After picnic lunch we walk on the edge of Enatye escarpments (4000m. above sea level); finally we descend to Chenek. Chenek is the best place to see the endemic Waliya Ibex and more Gelada Baboon. It takes 6 – 7 hours walk. O/n Camping at Chenek.- (3600m)

Day 8.

Chennek – Ambiquo  We walk to Ambiquo through Buhait (14530ft/4430m) Mountain the 2nd highest peak next to Ras Dashen in Semien Mountain ranges, giving excellent views over the whole area. After refreshment at the summit, you descend towards Chero Laba crossing the Mesheha River, we will reach to Ambiquo and resting for the night here, before the big day on Ras Dashen. O/n Camping at Ambiquo – (10496ft/3200m).

Day 9.

Ambiquo – Ras Dashen – Ambiquo Very early morning start walking toward mount Ras Dashen. To reach the summit can take up to 6 hrs. You will head up the valley from campsite to the small village of Mizma, from where you will climb steeply up wards, eventually reaching an impressive amphitheatre made up of three major buttresses of expanded rock, one of which is your goal, Ras Dashen. It is then an easy scramble to the summit, Ras Dashen, which is the highest peak in the country (14901ft/4543m). After taking in the impressive views descend back to Ambiquo for an overnight. O/n Camping at Ambiquo – (10496ft/3200m).

Day 10.

Ambiquo – Sona  Trek from Ambiquo to Sona. Walk from Ambiquo to Sona through the magnificent landscape. En route you will see mount Wali Kend and mount silky in a distance view.  Overnight camping in Sona

Day 11.

Sona – Mekarebia  Trek from Sona to Mekarebia. We descend for about 2 hours and we cross a river. On this river stay for about 2 hours to swim and wash some clothes and walk to(if the group is interested) Mekarebia. O/n Camping.

Day 12.

Mekarebia – Mulit  Trek from Mekarabia to Mulit .On the way to Mullit this day another opportunity for swimming at the river. O/n Camping

Day 13.

Mulit – Aderkay meet vehicles and drive to Axum: Trek from Mulit to Aderkay meet vehicles and return to Gondar. We have a two hours walk to Adi Arkai; here we will be picked up by vehicle and drive to Axum through Tekeze river gorge. O/n Hotel.

Day 14.

Axum (the city of Queen of Sheba) ; Visit St. Mary of Zion Church, Stele compound, Ruin palaces, archeological museum & tombs. Over night Hotel.

Day 15.

Axum- Adi Grat; Drive to East of Axum on our route visit Yeha temple & Debre damo Monastry ( only men alowed monastry). Over night Lodge.

Day 16.

Adi Grat- Hauzen ( Geralta); Drive to Hauzen; This area is scenically spectacular and is a site for many architectural old rock churches that are not found in the other areas of the country. Some of them are Abreha –We Atsbeha, Degum Sellasie, and Debre Tsion. Visit some of them today. Over night Lodge.

Day 17.

During the day Excursion to the Churches of Geralta Area, that includes the magnificent rock hewn church of Abune Yemata Guh, Debre Mariam Korkor & Daniel Korkor. O/N Lodge.

Day 18.

Drive to Wukro Cherkos – Mekelle On our way to Mekele visit Negash mosque (the first mosque of the country), Wukro Cherkos . Over night hotel.

Day 19.

Mekelle- Lalibela; Drive to Lalibela through mountain scenery and we will have a breath taking at the cave church called Yimrahine, This Church has been carved by King Yimrahane Kirstos during the 13th Century. The murals on the dark walls of the church, the year round spring water de-scending from the top of the church and the forest around are very impressive. Overnight hotel.

Day 20.

Lalibela; Full day visit The Lalibela rock Hewn churches-This rock churches was shaped and formed both inside and out, the carvings show extremely skillful workmanship. Lalibela, the ‘New Jerusalem ’, is thought to have been constructed some 800 years ago by King Lalibela. Was his capital city, but today it is a small village. Our tour this day involves a certain amount of scrambling through a labyrinth of tunnels. The churches stand in two main groups on either side of a stream, known locally as ‘The River Jordan’. There are 11 rock-cut churches of which the most impressive is Bet Giorgis. It is carved in the form of a Greek cross and approached through a passage in the rock. Between them, these rock – cut churches are one of the great wonders of the world.  vernight hotel.

Day 21.

Lalibela Kombolcha; Drive to Kombolcha. This route is scenic. Visit the monasteries of Lake Haike which is just nearby the town of Dessie. Take stopovers for landscape views on the way. Overnight hotel.

Day 22.

Kombolcha- Addis Abeba; And on the way if today falls on Sunday we will visit the oromo market at Sembete village, visit the old palace of Emperor MenelikII in Ankober. and then drive to Addis. Evening a fare well dinner party in one of the traditional Ethiopian restaurant with folcloric dances from different ethnic groups. Then transfer to The Airport for your flight back home
