Tour duration: 9 days and 8 nights


In this 10-days trip of Danakil depression we will visit the Awash National Park where we will enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Rift Valley. Entering the Danakil desert, one of the most inhospitable and beautiful places on Earth, we will discover the Erta Ale volcano, unique in the world for having a boiling lava kettle inside its crater and having Very comfortable and easy access to visit, within the harshness represented by the very high temperatures of that area.

Day 1.

Arrive at Addis Ababa, you will be met by Karibu representatives at Bole International Air port and transferred to a hotel.

Day 2.

Addis-Debrezeit Crater Lakes-Awash National park, Early In the morning drive to Awash National park Via Nazareth, on our rout visit the beautiful Debre Zeit Crater, Lake Beseka and the Rift Valley Land escape. Proceed to Awash National Park for game viewing.

Day 3.

Semera; Drive to Semera, on our route visit the upper Rift valley landscape of Ethiopia and late in the afternoon collect the permit paper to visit the region and contact the office for local guide & Scout service.
O/N Local hotel.

Day 4.

Afdera; Early In the morning drive to Lake Afdera (-103m), listed as the lowest lying in the world. It is a stunning apparition, with its emerald-green waters overshadowed by the looming black basalt of mounts Berah Ale & Afdera.
O/Night camping.

Day 5.

Dodhom-Erta Ale; Drive to Dodhom and walk to Erta Ale (613 m Volcanic hill) all the night, visit the volcanic eruption.
O/Night camping.

Day 6.

Hamd Ella ;Drive to Hamd Ella to Visit the salt mines & camel caravans.
O/N Camping.

Day 7.

Dallol; After breakfast drive to Lake Asale (Salty Lake) and proceed to Dallol & enjoy the spectacular view and small hill, which is colourful by hot springs.
O/N Camping .

Day 8.

Drive to Semera (the capital of Afar Region).
O/N hotel.

Day 9.

Return (Fly) to Addis. O/ N flight back.
